At Special Melted Products we are constantly working to improve the Health & Safety measures for all our people and promote overall wellbeing. It is the shared responsibility of all employees to actively participate in all aspects of the safety program and to maintain the highest level of safety at all times.
Minimising our environmental impact is one of our core values.
We will achieve this by assessing and improving our performance in strategic areas, with targets including reducing our energy consumption per tonne of product and re-using 100% of discarded product produced back into our production process.
Our ISO 14001 certified environmental management system makes sure we have robust systems and procedures in place to meet all our legal duties, as well as driving continual improvement.

Anti-Slavery Policy
This policy supports our commitment to limiting the risk of modern slavery occurring within our own business or infiltrating our supply chains or any other business relationship.
The policy applies to all persons working for or on our behalf in any capacity, including employees, directors, officers, agency workers, contractors, consultants and any other third-party representative.
We expect all who have or seek to have a business relationship with the company to familiarise themselves with this policy and to act at all times in a way that is consistent with its values.
We will only do business with organisations who fully comply with this policy.
Whistleblowing policy
The aim of this procedure is to encourage you to raise any genuine concerns you might have about wrongdoings within the company without fear of reprisal, to provide you with guidance on how to raise those concerns and to enable us to investigate such concerns and deal with them appropriately.
You should not use this procedure for complaints relating to your own circumstances, such as the way you have been treated at work. In those cases, you should use the grievance procedure. This procedure is for making a disclosure of wrongdoing or malpractice where you reasonably believe that disclosure is in the public interest. If you are uncertain whether or not something is within the scope of this procedure, you should seek advice from Human Resources.

EU/UK Import Restrictions on Russian-origin Iron and Steel Products
Special Melted Products Ltd certifies and warrants that all products manufactured by Special Melted Products Ltd comply with Article 3g of Council Regulation (EU) 833/2014 and Chapter 4CA of the UK Russia Sanctions Regulation 2023.
Special Melted Products Ltd certifies that all iron and steel products which are listed in EU Annex XVII or UK Schedule 3B of the Regulation do not knowingly:
a. originates from Russia; nor
b. incorporates restricted iron and steel products or material from Russia; or
c. has any process that alter, transform in any way; or subjected to any type of operation in a third country.
Special Melted Products confirm that Mill Certificates will be available upon request to provide verification and will include the name and country of the production facility.
Conflict Mineral Policy
Special Melted Products Ltd (SMP) are committed to ensuring that raw materials used in the manufacture of our products, are sourced ethically and sustainably in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations.
SMP acknowledge its obligations to comply with section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and consumer protection Act 012010 (Dodd-Frank), placed upon companies having statutory reporting requirements to the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission.
Our policy aims to identify and prohibit the use of minerals and their derivatives, namely cassiterite, columbite-tantalite, gold, wolframite and their derivatives tin, tantalum, and tungsten mined in conflict zones, such as the Democratic Republic of Congo, Republic of Congo, Central Africa Republic, South Sudan, Zambia, Angola, Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda and Uganda.
All suppliers of raw material to SMP are required to declare that their material is “conflict free”. Suppliers are also expected to adopt their own Conflict Mineral Policy and to perform due diligence within their supply chain to ensure that all materials are conflict-free.
